Vitamins for hair growth: Nourish your hair from within - The idea of a vitamin for hair may sound strange at first, but the fact is hair vitamins can do more to promote healthy hair growth than any shampoo or conditioner. Your diet profoundly affects the health of not only internal systems and organs, but external ones including the hair, skin, and fingernails. B vitamins are important for the health and growth of the hair. Foods rich in B vitamins include beans, peas, carrots, cauliflower, soy beans, nutritional yeast, bran, nuts and eggs. Take a vitamin B-complex and supplement it with the following additional B-vitamins for best results.Vitamin B3 (niacin) - 50 mg 3 times daily.Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) -100 mg 3 times daily.Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) -50 mg 3 times daily.
Vitamin E - Antioxidant that enhances scalp circulation. Food sources: Cold-pressed vegetable oils, wheat germ oil, soybeans, raw seeds and nuts, dried beans, and leafy green vegetables. Daily dose: Up to 400 IU. Warnings: Can raise blood pressure and reduce blood clotting. People taking high blood pressure medication or anticoagulants should check with their doctors before taking Vitamin E supplements.
If you look at taking vitamins for hair loss, you will notice that these are vitamins essential for good health as long as you take them in moderation. Vitamin A is one of the vitamins to increase hair growth, but if you abuse it, it can also result in hairloss. Before taking any vitamins for hair loss or to increase hair growth, you should contact your doctor to find the underlying cause for the hair loss. A blood test will determine if you have a deficiency in any of the necessary vitamins.
