Why Pregnant Women Need Them
The best time to start taking prenatal vitamins is before you conceive. Prenatal vitamins are safe and comprehensive and help support a normal and healthy pregnancy. You may not need every ingredient in them, but most include the water-soluble vitamins that need to be replaced daily (C, the Bs). Folic acid is a supplement that can help reduce the risk of neural tube defects like spina bifida, cleft lip, and some heart abnormalities in fetuses.

Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine):- This vitamin helps your baby’s brain and nervous system develop.
Iron:- This mineral plays a major role in the development of red blood cells which are required for the healthy development of your baby.
Vitamin D - Helps build your baby’s bones and also regulates calcium absorption.
Vitamin C (85mg) Where to get it: Citrus fruits and juices, strawberries, bell peppers, tomatoes, dark leafy greens, broccoli, Brussel sprouts
Calcium - Helps your developing baby form strong bones and teeth.
Folic Acid
If you eat well and have no specific risk factors, the experts do not agree about whether you need to take a prenatal supplement. So talk with your practitioner about what’s right for you.
